WHAT IS A FILTER CARTRIDGE?
A Doulton OBE 10 inch filter cartridge is a ceramic tube, which is cast open at both ends (OBE). Both ends are then closed off with food grade plastic mounts, which enable the cartridge to fit into a 10 inch filter housing. The mount at the top of the tube has an opening through which filtered water flows after it has passed through the ceramic .Particles of dirt, bacteria etc are trapped on the outside of the cartridge. The Ceramic outer shell is manufactured incorporating stabilised silver by a unique process which inhibits the multiplication of Bacteria and eliminates the need for regular sterilsation of the filter catridge/element.

SUPER STERASYL
The self-sterilsing Sterasyl ceramic is filled with granular Activated Carbon to improve the Colour, Taste and Odour of Drinking Water. This ceramic outer removes 99.99% of suspended solids and water bourne bacteria down to 0.9 micron.
BENEFITS
The Super Sterasyl has many benefits (removal of Particles, Pathogenic Bacteria, Cysts, etc). Chlorine removal is reduced, and is effective under gravity filteration conditions only.
